Alopecia,
or hair loss, is a chemotherapy side effect that many of us fear more than any
other aspect of treatment. With no hair and the high stress of cancer treatment
how can you maintain confidence?
This
became a mission of creating something beautiful out of this chapter of my life. I
learned to wrap big scarves, and the style was so unique that it drew
compliments even from strangers. Since it was difficult to imitate, I snipped
fabrics into a new pattern, produced short runs with a sewing contractor, and
Titillating Turbans were born!
How to Choose Your Best Headwear
- It makes you smile!
- Soft: Terry turbans are perfect at home. For going
out, choose soft, light fabrics: rayon, chiffon, cotton gauze. Avoid clingy
spandex, thick fabrics, and heavy cottons.
- Non-slip: An elastic edge allows for lighter fabrics, more
fullness and better grip than a tied scarf.
- Color! As bright as you dare -
celebrate your healing.
- Accessorize! The ends of a turban wrap can flow loose or be tied in a bow. Add an accent pin. Big earrings attract attention to your smile.
Whether
in pajamas or dressed up, you will have more confidence with headwear that assures
you that you are not your hair.

I knew a girl once that lost her hair to Chemo it was pretty devistating for her :-(
